10th term Differential diagnosis and approach to clinical problems in internal medicine 40 hours 20 hours of lectures: differential diagnosis of symptoms and syndromes, approach to the patient with a particular problem. 20 hours of seminars (smaller groups): case reports, esp. complicated or interdisciplinary, presented by an experienced lecturer and discussed by students (active approach to the problem and looking for the most efficient diagnostic and therapeutic option). Following the examination of systematic internal medicine (subspecialities, diseases) in the 9th term, this course is aimed at synthetic medical thinking, problem-solving and decision making. It should help the students to overcome the increasing fragmentation of internal medicine and to find interdisciplinary relations in particular clinical problems, for the best interests of the patients.
