Předmět hlouběji seznamuje studenty se sociálními aspekty zdravotní péče o vybrané skupiny populace. Problematika se týká seniorů, dětí ohrožených prostředím, osob s chronickým onemocněním, pacientů s infaustní prognozou, osob se závislostí na návykových látkách, dětí a adolescentů s poruchami chování a osob s handicapem. Předmět probíhá formou stáží v zařízeních, která se péči o tyto osoby věnují.

Syllabus - Health and Social Care of Risk Groups of Citizens

The program consists of two parts:

Lectures

Field visits

Teaching focuses on health and social care of people requiring special care:

People with physical and mental disabilities

Erderly

Socially disadvantaged children

Child abuse and neglect

Substitute family care (adoption, foster care)

Social services provided by public, private, voluntary and community sectors

Housing and settlement

Schools and educational facilities for children with special needs

Occupational and leisure opportunities

The course wills develope an intagrated view of the ways in which social factors can influence health. Each course participant will choose one topic and produce a short essay (3 - 5 pages). The key features are presented to the whole group on the last day of the course. Seminars are completed with videos.
