Subject "Orthopaedics, traumatology and anesthesia" is focused on presenting the possibilities of diagnosis and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries including multiple traumas and injuries of the skull, chest and abdomen. It focuses on active participation in the treatment of these patients. Information about subject (by Department of radiodiagnostics) is in application Vyuka (http://vyuka.lf3.cuni.cz).

The primary objective of the course is to acquire pathological and pathophysiological knowledge regarding musculoskeletal diseases and traumas.

The secondary objective is to acquire diagnostic approaches for musculoskeletal disorders and trauma.

Tertiary objective is to acquire therapeutic procedures in the treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disease and after trauma.

The fourth objective is to enable students to acquire basic skills relating to the care of patients with musculoskeletal disease or trauma.

It is the object based on the instruction in progress in theoretical institutions and departments (outpatient department, wards and operating room), in all forms of teaching exclusive (lecture, seminar, internship) and inclusive education (in the outpatient clinic, department, and operating room).

Warning: Students must come to the plastic surgery practices wearing white scrubs and hospital shoes, otherwise they will not be able to participate.

* Requirements for credit:
Credit be awarded at the 80% participation in practical training (20 signatures from 24 in credit form).

* Examination conditions:
The exam is open only to students who meet the following requirements:
1. Successfully passing pathology exam.
2. Receiving credit in the subject OTA.
Test has the following attributes:
1. The random selection of 100 questions (20 pathology, 20 pathophysiology, 20 pharmacology, 40 other related fields).
2. Questions are selected of the forward-known issues. Each question has four answers the two of which are correct. Order of the answers at random computer selection changes.
Evaluation:
1. Question is recognized as one point, if student marks both the right answers and no wrong one.
2. Grade is awarded according to the same key for all four components of the test:
a. 18-20 resp. 36-40 correctly answered questions is “excellent”,
b. 16-17 resp. 32-35 correctly answered questions is “very good”,
c. 14-15 resp. 28-31 correctly answered questions is “good”,
d. Less than 14 resp. 28 correctly answered questions is “fail”,
e. Final grade is an average one of all four sub-scores (in the case of an average 1,5 or 2,5 decide the total grade mark achieved in the clinical part of the test).
3. Failure to achieve a student in any of the four parts of the test at least 14 resp. correctly answered 28 questions, the overall result of “insufficient” and must repeat the entire test. Resits are only two to those who failed in the regular test.

* Exams dates

During the examination period from Monday to Wednesday for students of Czech curriculum. During the exam period on Thursdays for students of English curriculum.
