Fyziologie je intelektuální i experimentální obor, který využívá základních poznatků z molekulární biologie, fyziky, chemie a biochemie a transformuje je do praktického použití v medicíně. Pro výklad fyziologických procesů vyžaduje perfektní znalost morfologických oborů tj. anatomie, histologie a embryologie.

The objective of the subject
The objective of the physiology is to teach the students physiological thinking, i.e. to know basic mechanisms of physiological proces in man and basic physiological norms.
It has also to learn to recognize these mechanisms in borader relations in complete point of view to functional status of individual like the basic presupposition for searching of limit between physiology and pathophysiology. The other objective is to teach the students basic manual skills on animal models.
The physiology is a coordinative subject of the structure and function of human body, in which are studied together the subjects of anatomy, histology and embryology, biochemistry and physiology. The student has, after graduation of this common module, called Structure and function of human body, to be prepared to apply their knowledge in preclinical and clinical subjects. The first use during their study is pathological physiology.

Fyziologie má za úkol naučit posluchače fyziologickému myšlení tj. poznat základní mechanismy fyziologických procesů u člověka a základní fyziologické normy.
Má je také naučit vidět tyto mechanismy v širších souvislostech, v komplexním pohledu na funkční stav jedince jako základní předpoklad pro hledání hranice mezi normou a patologii. Dalším cílem je naučit studenty základní manuální zručnosti na animálních modelech.Fyziologie je koordinační obor struktury a funkce lidského těla, kde se společně studují předměty anatomie, histologie a embryologie, biochemie a fyziologie. Student by měl po absolvování tohoto společného modulu, který se nazývá Struktura a funkce lidského těla být připraven aplikovat svoje poznatky do preklinických a do klinických oborů. První uplatnění je při studiu patologické fyziologie.

A student has to fulfill the following conditions to be able to obtain credit: attendance, partial written tests and oral credit tests.
1. Attendance
The attendance at practical trainings and seminars is supposed to be at least 80 % for each form of study extra. Based on the amount of scheduled classes it means one allowed absence.
One absence above this rule will be tolerated if student documents his/her absence by the letter of apology (e.g. doctor certification). Each case will be handled individually if student has more absences (e.g. preparing of extensive presentation, examination by the head of the department or by committee). In some cases it is possible to prevent the absence by visiting practical training or seminar with another study group, but only with agreement of both involved teachers that consider the spatial and technical possibilities.
The participation on the conferences is obligatory (100%). In the absence from important reasons the student will be examined from appropriate themes. The presence on the conferences represents full part of the credit.
2. Partial written tests
Student has to accomplish successfully two partial written tests during each semester (see table below). At least 75 % of successfulness is necessary to succeed in each test. Tests may be repeated.
3. Oral credit exam
The most important condition of obtaining credit is the oral credit exam. In the 4th semester, in addition to the oral credit exam the practical exam is necessary to pass to get a credit.
3.1. Dates of obtaining credit
Appointed dates of exams are exclusively in weeks 14 and 15 during the regular time of practical trainings of physiology. Content of these practical trainings is only oral credit examination.
Next dates of obtaining credits will be set by each teacher based on the needs and possibilities. Credit examination is possible in the time of examinational period. It is not possible to take credit exams during summer holidays.
3.2. Course of credit exam
Student will draw two questions of specific subject area. (There are 3 subject areas in summer semester of the 1st year. When taken the credit in this semester, students will draw 2 of the 3 subject areas they will be examined from and after than they will draw the specific questions.) Student has 10 minutes to prepare answers and 5 minutes to present their answers to teacher. Time restriction is necessary because of the number of students, but it also shows the abilities of the student. In Practical training oral test in the 4th semester student will draw one question that he/she will do practically.
3.3. Evaluation
Each question is evaluated by grade 1 to 4, where 1 is the best and 4 the worst. The final grade that student receives is PASSED (if grades are 1-3) or FAILED (if at least one question is evaluated by grade 4). Results are recorded in the Card of the student (as question and grade).
3.4. Repeating of the credit examination
In case that student fails in the credit exam, he/she may take it again not earlier than 7 days after the previous date of examination. The third term of oral exam cannot be taken earlier than 14 days after the second exam. The course and evaluation is the same in all terms of examinations. At the third term of credit exam second assistant has to be present as observer.
All students have to take all the credit trials with teacher of their group. It is possible to take the credit exam with other teacher only with agreement of both involved teachers.
In the case of failure during the third credit exam, the Chair of the Department determines the next exam schedule and committee arrangement.

Podmínky udělení zápočtu z fyziologie v rámci Modulu 1A
Pro udělení zápočtu musí student splnit 3 podmínky: docházku, průběžné testy a zápočtové zkoušení.
1. Docházka
Na praktických cvičeních a seminářích je vyžadována 80 % účast pro každou formu studia zvlášť. V praxi to podle současného počtu hodin znamená jednu povolenou absenci. Jedna neúčast nad tuto normu je tolerována, pokud je doložena řádnou omluvenkou. V případě dalších absencí je každý případ řešen individuálně (vypracování rozsáhlejšího referátu, přezkoušení přednostou ústavu nebo jím pověřenou komisí). Případnou neúčast lze v omezené míře nahrazovat, ale pouze po předchozí domluvě s asistenty obou zúčastněných kruhů, kteří posoudí prostorové a technické možnosti náhrady. Účast na konferencích na konci jednotlivých tématických okruhů je 100% povinná. Při neúčasti z vážných důvodů bude student z příslušné tématiky přezkoušen. Prezence na konferencích je nedílnou součástí zápočtu.
2. Průběžné testy
Během semestru musí student úspěšně projít dvěma průběžnými písemnými testy (viz tabulka). K jejich složení je nutná minimálně 75 % úspěšnost. Testy lze, podobně jako zkoušku, opakovat.

2. ročník, zimní semestr Fyziologie srdce a oběhu, Endokrinologie
2. ročník, letní semestr Fyziologie CNS, Fyziologie smyslů
3. Zápočtové zkoušení
Nejdůležitější podmínkou udělení zápočtu je zápočtové zkoušení.
3.1. Termíny
Předepsané termíny zkoušení jsou výhradně ve 14. a 15. výukovém týdnu v době, kdy jsou v rozvrhu zapsána praktika z fyziologie. Obsahem těchto posledních dvou praktik je pouze zápočtové zkoušení. Další termíny zkoušení si vyučující stanovují individuálně podle potřeby a možností. Zkoušet lze až do úplného konce zkouškového období. Během letních prázdnin se zápočty nezkouší.
3.2. Průběh zkoušení
Student si vylosuje dvě otázky z příslušných oblastí . Na přípravu odpovědí se počítá cca 10 minut, na zodpovězení každé otázky pak maximálně 5 minut. Časové omezení je nutné nejen vzhledem k počtu studentů, ale rovněž slouží jako přídatné kriterium.
3.3. Hodnocení
Každá otázka se hodnotí známkou 1 až 4, celková známka za zkoušení je PROSPĚL(A) ? NEPROSPĚL(A) (alespoň jedna z otázek hodnocená 4). Výsledky se zapisují do Karty studenta (název otázky a známka).
3.4. Opakované zkoušení
V případě, že student neprospěje, může zkoušku opakovat nejdříve za 7 dní po prvním termínu. Třetí termín zkoušky musí být od druhého v odstupu alespoň 14 dní. Výběr otázek, průběh zkoušení a hodnocení jsou u všech termínů stejné. Jediný rozdíl je v tom, že u třetího termínu musí být kromě zkoušejícího přítomen ještě další asistent jako přísedící. Student je povinen absolvovat všechny termíny zkoušení u asistenta, který má na starosti příslušný kruh. Jakákoliv změna zkoušejícího musí být odůvodněná a lze ji uskutečnit pouze se souhlasem obou zúčastněných asistentů.
V případě neúspěchu při třetím termínu následuje přezkoušení přednostou ústavu, který definitivně rozhoduje o udělení nebo neudělení zápočtu.
