The discipline Anatomy and Histology deals with the structure and the basic functions of the human body. It affords the students a review on the body structure, necessary for their professional activities oriented on the prevention and protection of the health of the human being. It represents a structural base for other theoretical as well as clinical disciplines. The target of the teaching process is a development of exact understanding on the structure and development of the individual, and support also the ability to implement the gained information into another disciplines. The disposition of the discipline is theoretico-practical.

The aim of the discipline is to offer the students a basic informations on the structure and function of the human body and its particular organ systems, which they will use in their future practical activities inf the region of the preventive medicine.

The discipline will be taught in a form of lectures, seminars and demonstrations of the organs on the practical trainings. The students will obtain all necessary informations in the recommended literature and in the internal materials of the Department of anatomy.

Requirements to the exam -

The precondition for passing the final exam is to govern the basic knowledge on the structure of the human body and its particular systems. The examination for credits will have a form of the written tests, the final eaxm will be oral.

Introduction into the anatomy, anatomical nomenclature, general anatomy

General histology and embryology

Anatomy of the bones and joints

Skul as a whole, skull of the newborn

Axial skeleton, muscular system

Tissues, organs, organism, bony and muscular tissue

Structure of the heart, vascular and lymphatic system

Histology of the cardiovascular system

Gross anatomy and histology of the digestive, respiratory and urogenital systems

Sense organs, skin, endocrine glands

Central and peripheral nervous system

Topographical regions of the body

The study is designated for the students, which possess the professional competence in health care system, and which have previous practical experience, namely in the regions oriented on the health prevention and support. The admission examination will be organised in a form oral interview.
