Výuka probíhá v rámci problémově orientovaného kursu, kde jsou postupně vyučovány základy obecné a speciální endokrinologie, diabetologie, gastroenterologie a hepatologie. V návaznosti probíhá výuka břišní chirurgie s výrazným důrazem na náhlé příhody břišní, dále výuka základů patologie a patofyziologie onemocnění endokrinních orgánů, poruch metabolismu a onemocnění zažívacího traktu. Kromě patologie a patofyziologie jsou v předmětu vyučovány příslušné části farmakologie. Studenti jsou vzdělávání k integrovanému přístupu k řešení problémů nemocných , některé části výuky mají charakter problémově orientovaného studia.
Aim of the course -

The prerequisit for attendace at the course DEGHAS is the succesfull examination from general pathology, general pharmacology and Microbiology and infectious diseases.

The course diabetology-endocrinology-gastroenterology-hepatology and abdominal surgery (DEGHAS) has 5 weeks.

In the first two weeks the students will learn the basic principles of the endocrine and metabolic diseases with special emphasis to diabetes mellitus.

In the 3rd week, the most common diseases of the oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, intestines, biliary ducts and pancreas will be discussed.

The entire 4th week is dedicated to the liver diseases. Gastrointestinal surgery including topographic anatomy of the abdominal cavity will be presented in the 5th week.

Acute abdominal emergencies will be discussed in separate seminars.

In this course, the diseases will be presented from pathology and pathophysiology to clinical manifestation and basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures or prevention.

There will be 2 seminars and 1 clinical presentation in the morning hours. Lectures will be held according to schedule, always at 14:00.

The course is obligatory for all students! Additionally, presence at the clinical presentations and seminars will be always confirmed by the assigned teacher.

Credit: 80 % of presence in clinical presentations and seminars is required.

Prerequisit for examination is succesfull examination from the General pathology, General pharmacology and Microbiology and infection 

Condition for obtaining the credit is 80% of presence at clinical presentations and seminars.

Oral examination can be taken only on assessed terms. Student will be given 3 questions: 1) pathology, 2) pharmacology, 3) clinical topic.
