Course Advancing Scientific Skills is focused on three key skills for successful academic/scientific career; 1) publishing in professional peer-reviewed journals mainly in English language; 2) writing and submitting competitive research grant proposal; 3) presentation of the student’s scientific work and ability to present it in front of various types of the audience.

Studenti jsou vedeni k osvojení řady strategií, od nekritických odhadů, přes obecné pokyny, až po vědecky přísnější strategie, které zahrnují použití důkazů z jejich vlastních experimentů a vědecké literatury. Studenti musí prokázat proveditelnost experimentálních návrhů s pilotními údaji či primární literaturou; učí se kriticky porovnat experimentální kontexty a konkrétní hodnoty dat při interpretaci svých experimentálních zjištění; výsledky své práce publikovat a navrhovat implementační rámce do praxe. Popis struktury předmětu / hl. témata: 1) Vědecké publikování: kritické recenze vědeckých prací; psaní článků (důraz na praktické aspekty a reálné okolnosti); citace, reference, práce s databázemi (důraz na praktické aspekty); plakáty, účast na konferenci; 2) Příprava grantových žádostí: zvládnutí od přípravy po úspěšně zakončení a publikaci výsledků; případové studie; příprava skutečných žádostí a řešení skutečných projektů; 3) Prezentační dovednosti: odborné prezentace a vystupování před publikem; PR; práce s masmédii; práce se sociálními sítěmi.
