The main objective is knowledge of the basics of internal medicine, especially with respects to the dental practice. Internal Clinic 2 is focused on different diseases with emphasis on frequent illnesses and conditions, on acute situations in internal medicine and their treatment, on conditions and diseases particularly related to the dentistry (manifestations of internal diseases in the oral cavity, specifics of dental procedures in specific internal diseases).

Diseases of heart and vessel.

The most common symptoms of metabolic and nutritional disorders.

Metabolic diseases: Atherosclerosis. Metabolic syndrome. Diabetes mellitus. Disorders of lipid metabolism.

Malnutrition and support in nutrition.

Obesity

Fundamentals of endocrinology.

The most common symptoms of liver disease. Liver failure. Drug induced liver disease (DILI). Chronic liver diseases.

Cirrhosis. Hepatocellular carcinoma. Budd-Chiari syndrome. Liver in pregnancy. Metastatic liver tumours. Liver transplantation.

Coagulation disorders, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopathy. Basics of evaluation of coagulation tests. Anticoagulation therapy (indications, complications).

Nephrotic syndrome. Glomerulonephritis. Glomerulopathy.

Systemic vasculitis. Urinary tract infection. Nephrolithiasis. Tumours of the kidneys. Acute kidney failure. Chronic kidney failure. Renal transplantation.
