Aim of the course -
Last update: Markéta Fričová (09.11.2020)

The objective of the physical education course is to motivate students to adopt a balanced and active lifestyle that includes physical activity and regeneration in addition to routine and work-related activities, and thus helping to maintain the physical and mental potential required for successful performance at school and in everyday life. This objective can only be achieved by developing basic physical abilities and specific physical skills needed for specific sports and regular individual physical exercise. Care for the body, health, and physical fitness is perceived in the process of instructing physical education as a vital component of an individual’s personality.

We proceed from the teaching of Hatha yoga, i.e. a holistic yoga approach to life. We start each class with a guided relaxation, we use joint mobilization and asanas with emphasis on its correct anatomic execution (different variations of exercises according to students’ physical capabilities and potential health limitations) and we work with conscious breathing. The classes include selected parts of yoga philosophy to help us work efficiently on physical and mental strength and emotional stability, e.g. how to work with stress, fatigue, inner uncertainty etc. As for yoga therapy we use the basics of psychosomatics and somatopsychic, i.e. how physical and mental health conditions affect each other.
