One-semester course, 1 session of 90 mins per week.
Target group: The course is designed for students of all disciplines with B1/B2 entry level in order to prepare them for the B2 exam.
Course contents: The course is focused on deepening students’ grasp of the grammatical and lexical basics of Russian language, expanding vocabulary, practicing phraseological material with emphasis on socio-cultural and sociolinguistic information, through reading comprehension, listening comprehension and grammatical tests, including model tests for the exam. The course prepares students’ for the B2 exam.

The aim of the course is to develop language and communication skills at B2 level.

By the end of the course, students should ideally be able to speak fluently about topics in their field of study and use adequate Russian language concepts, expressing the content of academic texts in their own words.

Write a shorter appropriately structured academic text, essay, letter in which they develop several ideas and defend their opinion.

Also be tested in the exam, distinguish and appropriately apply informal and formal styles in written communication and choose appropriate words.

Preparation for each part of the exam:
 - listening comprehension
 - reading comprehension
 - practising writing an essay, a letter, a short structured academic text
 - grammar summary
practising the oral part of the exam (summary of the professional text, dialogue with the examiner, comprehension and translation of the professional text)

1.           Wonders of nature. Travels. Numerals. An informal letter of recommendation.

2.           Science and morality. Declension of nouns. Brief writing of an article.

3.         Tolerance. Adverbs, adjectives (declension, degrees of comparison). Essay-discussion.

4.           Migration. Verbs of movement. Leading a discussion.

5.           Contemporary Russian culture in emigration after 2022. Film-concert ''We exist!'',     directed by Roma Liberov. Russian artists in exile.

Participles, de-particles.

6.           Grammar practice. Preparation for the oral part of the exam.
