The course (90 minutes twice a week) is a continuation of the A2 course and is intended for students who have completed the A2 course or have the appropriate language level.

The aim of the course is to consolidate grammar and develop language competence so that a student with an initial knowledge of A2 can reach the B1- level n all language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking).

The course will be taught according to the new textbook "Poechali 2.1." by S. Chernyshev, which is available in the library of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University (Jana Palacha Square).

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to develop communicative language competence so that a student with an initial proficiency of A2, together with intensive home preparation, can reach the B1- level in all language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking).

The student thus

  • reaches a language level that enables him/her to start, maintain and end a conversation independently in different communicative situations, e.g. "Personal information, questionnaire". "Choosing a profession". "Regimen of the day, lifestyle", "How we dress", "Restaurants, eating out", "Healthy living", "At the doctor's".
  • is able to respond appropriately to basic patterns of behaviour using appropriate means of both verbal and non-verbal communication
  • can read adapted fiction, adapted journalistic texts, menus and recipes to a range
  • can understand both a monologue and a conversation on a familiar topic, at a slow pace
  • can write a personal letter on given topics, a narrative about language study, a film seen, a performance attended. Can compose a CV, write an invitation letter.
