Aesthetics in the Context of Semiotics
This lecture is a loose continuation of the lecture Aesthetics in the Context of Philosophy from the winter semester, it does not, however, presuppose any prior knowledge of aesthetics, philosophy or semiotics. The main bulk of the course will deal with the semantics theories of art of American philosopher Nelson Goodman (1906-1998) and Czech aesthetician and literary theorist Jan Mukařovský (1891-1975).
