Students will gain an understanding of the importance of taking precautions against harm to the client or work-group. Through demonstration of different ways of working with clients in different professional fields, students will be able to understand and gain insight into the therapeutic, personal development and counselling potential of techniques and methods from a range of psychological orientations.

Students will understand the basic procedures for conducting a psychological interview, and will understand the differences between the psychological interview in diagnostic work (clinical diagnosis, personal assessment, personal psychology) and the psychological interview about a client's personal issues in a therapeutic/counseling interaction or when working on a client's personal developmental goal.
