Cílem povinně volitelného předmětu (PVP) "Komunitní tlumočení I" je poskytnout v rámci přednášek/referátů a tlumočených příspěvků odborný vhled do sociálně-psychologických, právních a kulturních aspektů tohoto typu zprostředkované komunikace. V navazujících seminářích předmět zajišťuje základní průpravu tlumočníků zejména pro spolupráci se státní a veřejnou správou, zdravotnickými zařízeními, neziskovými organizacemi, eventuálně dobrovolníky pro tzv. komunitní tlumočení (konsekutivní tlumočení bilaterální a doprovodné tlumočení). Studenti se seznámí s rolí komunitního tlumočníka a s etickými požadavky na výkon této profese, učí se řešit případné krizové situace a vyhnout se eventuálnímu konfliktu. Dále budou prohlubovat dovednosti různých tlumočnických technik - především konsekutivního tlumočení (včetně techniky tlumočnického zápisu) a šušotáže.
