During four lectures the students will get acquainted with specialized healthcare information resources and services. The first lecture aims at clarifying the principles of scientific communication in medicine and particularly <br>
the cycle of publishing and communication of the scientific healthcare information, the concept of medicine as a<br>
field of science, organization of healthcare system in the Czech Republic and medical terminology including the<br>
Medical Subject Headings thesaurus. The second lecture is oriented on the health information literacy available either through the network of healthcare libraries or free on the internet. The third and fourth block deal with information resources in medicine and contain searching exercises.The seminar ends with students' presentations.<br>
