Seminář se zaměří na vybraná témata a problémy, které protínají problematiku gender studies a souvisí se studiem autoritativních a totalitárních režimů. Seminář se nebude věnovat výhradně prostoru Československa, ale budeme nahlížet také do dalších geografickým kontextů, zejména v období státního socialismu. Cílem je podívat na konkrétní perspektivy a metody uplatňované historičkami/historiky a dalšími sociálními vědami při studiu genderu v období diktatury. Seminář bude mít obvykle dvě části: v úvodu získáme obecnější vhled do vybraného tématu, ve druhé budeme diskutovat nad konkrétními texty, které si všichni účastníci kurzu předem přečtou.

The course focuses on selected topics and problems that connect gender studies and are related to the study of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes. The seminar will not be exclusively addressed to the space of Czechoslovakia, but we will also look at other geographical contexts, especially during the period of state socialism. The aim is to look at specific perspectives and methods applied by historians and other social scientists in the study of gender in the period of dictatorship. The seminar will usually have two parts: at the beginning, we will get a more general insight into the selected topic, in the second part, we will discuss specific texts that all participants will read in advance.
