The compulsory optional subject Chapters of Czech History and Culture I is intended for interns and postgraduates who study the Czech language at the Institute of Bohemian Studies for Foreigners and Communication of the Deaf. It is focused on questions of the formation of Czech statehood, its historical development and changes. When characterizing the main historical stages, the role of culture comes to the fore, so that connections with the development of language, literature, art, science and education stand out for foreign students. At the same time, Czech history is placed in the context of European and especially Central European development. Historically and genetically, the issue of Czech-Slovak, Czech-German and Czech-Jewish relations is clarified. The specific content of the seminar is modified according to the students' interest and their language competence.
