The course is designed for students of Czech as a foreign language. It focuses on the development of drama skills in a broad sense. Attention will be drawn to the development of Czech theatrical culture and to spoken performance in Czech mainly, specifically to the Czech pronunciation nad intonation, Czech vocabulary and phraseology, acting skills and non-verbal communication in the Czech cultural environment.<br>

The participants of the seminar will study a play in Czech. This theatrical play will then be presented to the public either in the form of a theatrical performance or as a video recording of this performance, for example on You Tube.

In a seminar designed for students of Czech as a foreign language, we work with the following topics: Dramatic text and its specifics in Czech, Interpretation of dramatic text, Semantic and pragmatic side of utterance and text, Persuasive methods, Properties of spoken speech, Speech interpretation of written text, Accent, intonation, phrasing, emphasis, Phonetic rules and orthoepy of Czech, Gesture, Facial expressions, Stage movement, Acting interaction, Preparation of props, costumes, Work with props.

The condition for granting the credit is regular participation in the seminar, learning of the assigned theatrical role and its performance on the occasion provided. Students will also be involved in the preparation of costumes and props and in the promotion of their performance in the faculty and on social networks, or into its media coverage.
