Annotation -
The purpose of the Doctoral Seminar is to provide students with the opportunity to present and, through mutual discussion, further develop solutions to the issues addressed in their doctoral theses. The seminar also serves as a starting point for the formation of potential research teams to secure and carry out joint research projects. In addition to students and the main lecturer, the Doctoral Seminar will be attended by invited supervisors and other academic staff. Each student should present the current status and a selected sub-topic of their thesis at least once per semester. In the first semester, they should present the basic aim and the anticipated approach and methodology of their doctoral thesis. In subsequent semesters, they should present their approach and methodology in greater detail and, where appropriate, present selected interim results. In the final year of study, students are expected to present the results and conclusions of their doctoral thesis at the seminar. Depending on the topics of the dissertations and current requirements, the seminar will be supplemented by lectures from supervisors and other academic staff. Assessment requirements: Regular attendance at the seminar; regular presentations on the progress and topics of the dissertation; and completion of other assigned tasks arising from discussions and work carried out in the seminar.
