The course Adapted Physical Activity – Specialization II follows on from the course APA Specialization I. It is an integrative and in-depth course that broadens the spectrum of student competencies in the area of planning and implementing physical activity programs for pupils with special educational needs in physical education, this time in the areas of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports. The general knowledge and skills acquired in the general APA courses, including the principles of adaptation, testing, and classification, are supplemented by the methodological and didactic aspects of working with pupils with special educational needs. Emphasis is placed on safety, differentiation, the use of assistive technologies, and reflective teaching practice.

The aim of the course is to prepare students for the independent and professionally correct planning and implementation of physical activity programs for students with special educational needs in school physical education. Graduates of the course will be able to apply APA knowledge in the teaching of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports, didactically manage the training of these physical skills, and adapt the content to the individual needs of students. Conditions for obtaining credit: 1) Obtaining at least 5 points from the assessment of skills in the area of modifications of swimming skills, gymnastics skills, and combat sports for students with special educational needs. It is necessary to obtain at least 1 point from each area (maximum 9 points). Modification of swimming techniques for students with SEN – to be specified Modification of gymnastics skills for students with SEN – to be specified Modification of combat sports skills for students with SEN – to be specified 2) Continuous assessment of the student's mastery of the subject matter, which the student demonstrates in practical exercises. Students are required to know the theory behind the relevant modifications of skills for students with SEN, to know the technical implementation of these modifications, and to apply them in practice to the given groups of students with SEN. 3) Preparation and implementation of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports lessons for students with SEN. 4) Attendance – each practical lesson – 2 points – a minimum of 70 points must be obtained (maximum 84 points). 5) Observation practice in programs for pupils/clients with SEN in the areas of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports. 6) Preparation and teaching of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports lessons for students with special educational needs – maximum 30 points – preparation is part of the student's portfolio. After completing the course, students will: - apply APA principles in the teaching of swimming, gymnastics, and combat sports - be able to design and implement adapted physical activities for various groups of students with special educational needs - assess the indications, contraindications, and risks associated with the implementation of physical programs and activities for students with SEN - use assistive technologies and compensatory aids in practice - integrate knowledge from biomedicine, pedagogy, and didactics into physical interventions - reflect on their own pedagogical activities and their impact.
