Annotation -
Development of tool skills taking into account the needs of educational practice. Focus on the characteristic stylization of the chord accompaniment (typical rhythmic figures). Emphasis on auditory imagination.

Aim of the course -

Students accompany folk and popular songs with stylistically appropriate playing. Songs are transposed according to the intention to develop the vocal range of the pupils and to allow playing other accompanying instruments at the same time.

Learning outcomes -

The student explains the principles of forming melodies of folk and popular songs and gives examples of the principles in 3 Czech, 3 Moravian, 3 Slovak folk songs.

The student characterizes the melodic features of country and midstream style songs and demonstrates these characteristics on 3 country songs and 3 other popular songs.

The student plays a cadence with the major triads in keys that match the keys of the accompanied songs. 

The student plays the cadence with major and minor triplets to allow for accompaniment of the songs in the lesson.

The student stylizes the cadenza according to the nature of the songs: Czech folk, Moravian folk, Slovak folk, popular and country.

The student explains the composition of harmonies and plays these harmonies independently according to chord markings.

The student sings and accompanies songs according to guitar markings: 10 Czech folk songs, 10 Moravian folk songs, 3 Slovak folk songs, 10 country songs, and 10 other popular songs.
