The aim of this course is to present a basic overview of the concepts and key determinants of urban health. The seminars will focus on sustainable development goals, measuring health, health inequalities in urban settings, deprived areas or disadvantaged populations. It will also be discussed how obesogenic environment, blue and green spaces, art and cultural environment and also heavy traffic, air pollution or noise may affect the health of the urban populations. Students will be involved in a group project and will learn how to evaluate health risks or health potentials in an urban environment by selecting a specific area in the city of Prague.
