In the summer semester 2024/2025, the course will take place twice weekly in the period of 31st March to 16th May.
The course will focus on the specific position of small states in international relations in general and in the European Union in particular. On concrete examples of small states' behaviour, the students will discuss the concepts suitable for the study of small states, tools and strategies for their interest promotion, coalition-building and relations with large powers, and the role of domestic politics. The course will be based on a discussion of relevant scholarly literature and independent research work. It is an MA-level course. BA-level students will not be registered in the course.
