Pharmaceutical excipients allow the formulation of the dosage form, determine its properties, influence the bioavailability of the active ingredient and its stability as well as the stability of the pharmaceutical preparation itself. The subject is concerned with physical, thermal, dispersion, absorption and biodegradation properties of pharmaceutical excipients and their mixtures estimated for the use in the conventional oral, cutaneous, ocular, parenteral and other dosage forms as well as in novel advanced drug delivery systems with modified drug release kinetic or targeterd effect, e.g. into specific organs, tissues or cells
