The aim of the course is to acquaint students with selected problems of medical sociology. To introduce sociology
as a science that applies the methods of sociological investigation on the subject of health, illness and medicine in
general. To acquaint students with the basic terminology medical sociology.
It focuses on the understanding of what constitutes health and disease and what social factors affect it.

Cílem předmětu je seznámit posluchače s vybranými problémy sociologie medicíny. Představit sociologii jako
vědu, která aplikuje sociologické způsoby zkoumání na předmět zdraví, nemoci a medicíny vůbec. Seznámit
studenty se základním pojmoslovím sociologie medicíny.
Zaměřuje se na pochopení toho, co konstituuje zdraví a nemoc a jaké sociální faktory jej ovlivňují.
