Annotation:
The techniques and skills for competent clinical examination are mastered by seminars and by the bedside practice. Examining patients draws on the senses of sight (inspection), touch (palpation) and hearing (percussion and auscultation).
Problem-oriented approach to case notes and record keeping emphasizes centrality of good note taking and record keeping in patient management.
General introduction to history-taking with more detailed elements of the history.
Careful history and physical examination can help to solving most medical problems

Credit for winter semester will be earned by filled presence list (at least 80 %) and practical exam. This practical exam consists of complete history and full physical examination of selected patient. Please use admission forms. Your examiner will sign and mark it. Do not throw it away but rather keep it - it will be requested again for theoretical exam in summer. Practical exam can be taken from last teaching week on, always on agreement with examiner. Credit will be written into your indexbook and SIS by Assoc. Prof. Málková (daily till 11 a.m.) for II. and III. Med. Dept. For I.Med. Dept.Assoc. by Prof. Valešová.
