Annotation -
The subject of the course is the issue of the sound of Czech non-native speakers, its acquisition and variability of forms. Sound phenomena difficult for foreigners in production are defined, both at the segmental and suprasegmental levels.
It also includes the issue of sound assessment in terms of intelligibility, fluency, foreign accent etc., methodological questions of research and the application of research results in practice.
The course is designed for native speakers of Czech. Non-native speakers at an advanced level can also participate in the course, however, the course does not include pronunciation training for participants.

In WS 25, the course content is linked to the BIP (Blendid intensive programme) Communication in Czech with a focus on the development of phonological competence of non-native speakers of Czech. This Erasmus + (short-term) programme is intended for students of Czech from foreign universities and its physical part will take place at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University from 18. 11. to 22. 11. 2025.

Notes:

In the examination period not immediately following the semester in which the course was taught, only one examination term will be
listed.

All requirements must be met by the end of the examination period of the academic year in which the student
enrolled in the course.

Repeated registration is possible.
