Annotation -
The course *Spirituality, Wellbeing and Technology* explores the impact of digital technologies on the area of
personal spirituality and the search for meaning in life. Digital media and tools such as social networks, mobile
applications, virtual reality and AI present new opportunities for spiritual experience and the search for meaning,
but also bring new challenges and limitations. The course places technology in the broader context of information
science. A central part is devoted to the process of seeking, mediating and interpreting information in the field of
spirituality, from the perspective of the recipient of the information. The course includes an examination of selected
related ethical issues, particularly with regard to the potential for manipulation or superficial interpretation of
complex spiritual experiences. The outcome of the course will be students' ability to critically evaluate technology
in relation to personal growth and transcendent experience in the digital age, and an understanding of how
technology shapes human perceptions of spirituality.
