Course goal: Participants will learn the basics of leading a counseling session with a client in a psychological-counseling setting. Knowledge gained: The participants will know the specifics of the counselling interview conducted by a psychologist. They will learn about the types of institutions where counselling psychologists work and who is their typical client. They know the key competencies of a counselling psychologist. They can briefly describe the basic psychological orientations used in a counselling context. Skills gained: Participants will be able to appropriately start and end a consultation with a client and know the basic tools for leading a session (active listening, asking open questions...) and its registration. They can support the tools used with evidence-based arguments.
