The aim of the course is to help students achieve B2+ level in Hungarian language. During the semester the course concentrates on the lexical and grammatical knowledge of the B2+ level, moreover, it helps students to develop communication skills.
The basic requirement for the semester is active participation in class and the completion and timely submission of homework assignments. Homework must always be sent to mate.hegedus@ff.cuni.cz no later than 7:00 pm on the day before the next class, except for the last class of the week, when the deadline is always Sunday at midnight. Self-checking is particularly important: avoid typos and consistent errors (especially in essays). The number of unexcused absences should not exceed 10% of the total number of lessons. The number of absences including excused absences (medical or other documented) should not exceed 50% of the total number of lessons. This will give you 25% of the semester grade. For one of the classes, students will prepare a news report, which will be graded on various aspects, this is also part of the class activity.
Each month we write a word test from a pre-defined vocabulary and a short test at the end of each chapter. The results of these will give you 25% of the semester grade. If someone fails the test with a result under 50%, they will have to re-write it.
At the end of the semester, there will be a complex exam consisting of a written essay and an oral exam. The topic will cover the entire semester's material. The result of this exam will be 50% of your grade. This exam cannot be worse than 50%.
The course materials are the following: MagyarOK B2+ coursebook and exercise book; additional materials will be distributed by the lecturer at each class.
