The course is focused on post-orogenic geological development of the Bohemian Massif after its amalgamation during the Variscan Orogeny and characteristics of regional geological units which consist the platform cover of the Bohemian Massif and Western Carpathianson the territory of the Czech Republic. It is a continuation of the similar course focused on pre-Variscan to Variscan development and units consisting the fundament of the Bohemian Massif. The platform cover is subdivided according to its stratigraphical position and the course is divided into the following parts:

1. Introduction to post-orogenic development of the Bohemian Massif - definition and overview.

2. Late Palaeozoic paralic and continental basins of the Bohemian Massif.

3. Mesozoic platform units of the Bohemian Massif

4. Cenozoic platform units of the Bohemian Massif and West Carpathians and neoid volcanites.

5. Quaternary cover of the Czech Republic
