Current approaches and methods in karyology (chromosome counting using squash techniques), cytometry (rapid estimation of nuclear DNA content using flow and image cytometries), and palynology (pollen determination).

  • important botany textbooks and journals

  • methods in palynology, preparation and evaluation of pollen samples

  • methods in karyology, chromosome countings using rapid squash method

  • flow cytometry - ploidy level and total DNA content analyses

  • image cytometry - estimation of nuclear DNA content in relative and absolute units, size determination

The image cytometry was supported by the grant project FRVŠ 912/2004: An innovation of Laboratory of flow and image cytometries for a practical tuition
