The course will introduce students to the historical, political and socio-economic geography of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It aims to follow development of the respective territory, society and economy with regard to aspects of space and time. Reliable orientation on various maps of German speaking countries and ability to find and interpret informations, including maps and statistical data is necessary.

Kurz je založen na historické, politické a socioekonomické geografii Německa, Rakouska a Švýcarska (a v menší míře i Lichtenštejnska) ve srovnávací perspektivě. Snaží se zachytit změny ve vývoji území, společnosti a hospodářství německy mluvících zemí v prostoru a čase. Hlavní důraz je kladen na současný stav a aktuální trendy vývoje. Předpokladem získání klasifikovaného zápočtu je znalost probírané látky, dobrá orientace na různých mapách daného teritoria a schopnost vyhledat a interpretovat relevantní informace, včetně statistických údajů a map.

Seznámit studenty s teritoriálními proměnami, politickou a socioekonomickou geografií německy mluvících zemí. Na základě prezentací a diskusí rozvíjet schopnost studentů vyhledávat relevantní informace a mapy a srovnatelná aktuální data, interpretovat je a zasadit do širšího kontextu.

- short presentation (10 min., focused on finding relevant information, maps and actual data, providing their interpretation, submit a powerpoint presentation and a short paper with citations)
- final test (focused mainly on basic facts and blank maps)
