Annotation -
The key focus of the course is to acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for utilizing a wide range of gymnastic activities and abilities in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of gymnastic programs. Emphasis is placed on factors related to the cultivation of movement expression, physical fitness, and the acquisition of a broad spectrum of gymnastic skills. A significant part of the instruction is dedicated to acrobatic exercises and exercises on apparatus, where students learn basic gymnastic skills and related professional skills in providing assistance and rescue, handling gymnastic equipment with regard to their effectiveness and safety of use.

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to acquire fundamental theoretical knowledge and didactic skills that make individuals proficient in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of teaching units focused on the cultivation of movement expression and physical fitness using gymnastic activities. The course extends the acquired knowledge and skills in the subjects of Basic and Rhythmic Gymnastics to include acrobatic exercises and exercises on apparatus. It provides an opportunity to master basic gymnastic skills in acrobatic exercises and exercises on apparatus, emphasizing the quality, safety, and methodology of practicing selected gymnastic skills, including the mastery of basic gymnastic skills and actions supporting injury prevention and exercise safety. Upon completing the course, the student:

Knows and can appropriately use professional terminology in both written and spoken discourse.
Can demonstrate basic gymnastic skills in acrobatic exercises and exercises on apparatus at an appropriate qualitative level.
Is competent in leading partial parts of teaching/training units with gymnastic content, capable of choosing suitable organizational forms and methods with regard to the defined unit goal, exercise safety, and the specifics of individual gymnastic exercises.
Can utilize gymnastic apparatus, acrobatic exercises, and apparatus for the creation and implementation of gymnastic programs.
Knows and can explain historical influences and current trends in the use of gymnastic activities in various areas of physical and sports activities.
Can describe and explain the basic principles of didactics in basic, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic exercises, and apparatus exercises using examples.
Understands and can explain the significance of gymnastic exercises in the context of diagnosing, maintaining, and developing physical fitness and its components.
Can compile a training unit with gymnastic content, justify its content, and describe the activities of the teacher, coach, or instructor related to its preparation, organization, and evaluation.
Can apply the principles of developing movement abilities with regard to the specifics of gymnastic exercises.

Syllabus -

Lecture Topics:

Professional terminology, nomenclature of acrobatic exercises, nomenclature of apparatus exercises, basic principles, and utilization of terminology in speech in the individual parts of the teaching unit, warm-up.

Principles and methods of developing motor skills through gymnastic activities and skills.

Theoretical foundations of technique in executing gymnastic skills, basics of didactics in acrobatic exercises and apparatus exercises.

Exercise unit with gymnastic activities, types of exercise units, structure, and content of exercise units.

History and current trends in gymnastics, types of gymnastics, gymnastic sports, gymnastics for all.

Creation, implementation, and evaluation of movement programs with gymnastic content.

Didactics of music-movement relationships and dances.

Exercise Topics:

Acrobatic preparation - supportive, strengthening. Rings - vertical, swinging. Takeoff preparation, landing preparation. Vault - box width.

Acrobatic preparation - using a small trampoline. Parallel bars - gripping, swinging. Horizontal bar - swing, forward spin, underbar. Principles of assistance.

Acrobatics - handstand, side somersault, balancing postures. Rings in pike position - swinging vertically, somersault in pike position. Vault - non-revolving jumps and their modifications, indirect assistance.

Acrobatics - takeoff and rotational preparation. Vault over goat/box - split with a windup. Horizontal bar to the face - backward spin, from support ride down, and lift-off with a leg wrap. Landing horizontal bar - hanging preparation, swinging vertically.

Acrobatics - side somersaults, roundoff, preparation for forward somersault. Small trampoline - straight jumps, somersaults in a layout position. Parallel bars - swinging in support on arms, support vertically on arms, swinging in support.

Parallel bars, parallel bars, rings - supportive, hanging, strengthening preparation. Vault over a box lengthwise - squat. Horizontal bar to the face - combination of elements. Landing horizontal bar - dismount from a vertical position.

Acrobatics - gymnastic jumps, forward somersault. Rings - static exercises in support, swing, dismount. Small trampoline - forward somersault.

Parallel bars - straddle, pike. Stalder bars - stand on shoulders. Horizontal bar to the face - swinging in support vertically, combination of elements.

Acrobatics - roundoff, forward somersault. Rings - men: lift gradually with a pull to support. Rings in pike position - women: in front swing vertically, in front swing with a leg wrap, in back swing dismount. Landing horizontal bar - men: backward spin and underbar with a leg wrap; in front swing dismount to a double support. Landing horizontal bar - women: spin forward in ride - transfer in support backward - underbar, spin backward.

Acrobatics - layout somersault, forward somersault, roundoff. Small trampoline - forward somersault.

Balance beam - walking, turns. Acrobatics - practicing connections of exercise shapes, routine creation. Horizontal bar - practicing connections of exercise shapes, routine creation.

Small trampoline - forward somersault. Apparatus - combination of elements.

Didactics of exercise shapes (appropriateness to age and performance level). Model training - routine creation.

Organization of exercise units using gymnastic apparatus.

Supervised practice of students in the form of didactic presentations on assigned topics.
