Annotation -
The aim of the Bachelor Seminar is to create a space in which it is possible to present and jointly discuss work in progress. The seminar is intended primarily for students who are planning to write, or are engaged in writing, their bachelor theses. Students will present their thesis projects in the class. This will enable them to, on the one hand, practice defending their work in discussion with opponents (teachers and students) and, on the other hand, to learn to critically assess the work of their colleagues, offering comments and objections. The seminar thus aims to serve students by revealing shortcomings in their work of which they might not have been aware themselves, while at the same time giving them practice in the art of discussion and cultivated criticism.

The seminar format requires the active participation of a commentator and other seminar participants. The work presented is always opposed by at least one other student, the commentator. The topics and program of the seminar are determined in accordance with the focus of the seminar participants and the progress of their work.

One condition for the completion of the Bachelor Seminar is the submission of the Bachelor's thesis to SIS. In the case of the Bachelor Seminar in the winter semester, the thesis must be submitted by the end of October; in the case of the Bachelor Seminar in the summer semester, the thesis must be submitted by the end of March.
