The subject is a combination of introduction to linguo-didactic, applied linguistics and practical language seminar aiming to develop advanced language competences at the levels of C1 and C2, using specialist texts on language teaching and acquisition in the form of text-, genre- and content-based approaches to language teaching. The students gain greater command of advanced language forms at the level of grammar, lexis and discourse while encountering key topics and issues in the fields of language teaching and acquisition. Using short micro-teaching slots on selected aspects of grammatical and lexical features they learn essential techniques of presenting new language and they learn to give and receive feedback. The subject is taught in English.
1. Introductory seminar - English in contemporary world.
2.–4. Problematic tenses. Language and identity.
5.–6. Indirect speech. Applied linguistics.
7.–8. Verb voice. Second anguage acquisition.
9.–10. Modality. Language proficiency and what it means to "know" a language.
11.–12. Verb complementation (gerund, infinitive). Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Předmět je kombinací úvodu do lingvo-didaktiky a aplikované lingvistiky a jazykového semináře a vede k rozvoji
pokročilých jazykových kompetencí v angličtině na úrovních C1 a C2 za využití analýzy odborných textů orientovaných
na témata jazykového vyučování a osvojování, a to formou textových, žánrových a obsahově orientovaných přístupů
k výuce jazyka. Studenti si upevňují schopnost používat pokročilé jazykové prostředky na úrovni gramatiky, slovní
zásoby a textové výstavby a zároveň se seznamují s klíčovými tématy didaktiky a osvojování cizích jazyků.
Prostřednictvím mikrovyučování vybraných gramatických a lexikálních jevů si pak osvojují základní techniky
prezentace jazyka při vyučování a učí se k těmto mikrovýstupům podávat a přijímat zpětnou vazbu. Předmět je
vyučován v anglickém jazyce.
1. Úvodní seminář – seznámení s technikami práce v semináři; Postavení angličtiny v současném světě.
2.–4. Problematické časy a příbuzné jevy (perfekta, vyjadřování budoucnosti, průběhovost, statická a dynamická
slovesa); Jazyk a identita.
5.–6. Nepřímá řeč; O aplikované lingvistice.
7.–8. Slovesný rod; Co to je SLA a čím se zabývá.
9.–10. Modalita; Co to je jazyková úroveň a co to znamená „znát“ jazyk.
11.–12. Doplnění sloves (gerundium, infinitiv); Společný evropský referenční rámec.
Předmět se vyučuje v anglickém jazyce.

Requirements to the exam -
Credit requiremetns
Submitting the introductory essay for the student portfolio in the first week of term (max. 24 points depending on the quality of language and content).
Regular attendance in the seminars (3 points for each attended seminar). Each absence results in 5% being deducted from the overall score.
Completion of weekly Moodle assignments (each week max. 5 points based on the accuracy of the answers).
Preparing and delivering a presentation on a given topic (max. 30 points, assessment as per a rubric introduce in the first seminar).
Successful completion of regular tests for compulsory vocabulary (in weeks 5, 10 and 13) (max. 25 points per test, minimum 67% to pass, otherwise a resit is necessary – max. one resit).
Successful completion of the final test in the exam period (max. 100points, minimum 67% to pass, otherwise a resit is necessary – max. one resit).

Požadavky pro udělení zápočtu
Vypracování úvodní úvahy do portfolia studenta učitelství v prvním týdnu semestru. (max. 24 bodů dle kvality jazyka a obsahu)
Pravidelná účast na seminářích (3 body za každou účast). Za každou absenci se odečítá 5% z celkového skóre.
Vypracovat před každým seminářem úlohy v v Moodle (každý týden max. 5 bodů za splněný úkol dle výsledků testu).
Přípravit a přednést prezentaci na zadané téma (max. 27 bodů, hodnocení vychází z rubriky, která je představena na prvním semináři).
Úspěšné složení dílčích testů na povinnou slovní zásobu v 5., 10., a 13. týdnu. (max. 25 bodů za každý test, minimum 67% pro složení testu, jinak nutné zopakování – povolen jeden opravný termín).
Úspěšné složení závěrečného testu ve zkouškovém období (max. 100 bodů, minimum 67% pro složení testu, jinak nutné zopakování – povoleny dva opravné termíny).
