The course introduces students to the current problems of nutrition and its influence on human health. It presents nutrition as a complex of biological and social factors that penetrate the whole life of man. It monitors the influence of nutrition on physical and mental health and the development of human nutritional behavior. The subject also deals with nutritional needs of selected population groups. Part of the subject is also devoted to communication between the client and the consultant.

The aim of the subject is to acquaint the students with the current problems of nutrition influence on human health and the specifics of nutrition consultancy.

Credit Requirements: successful passing a credit test - open and closed questions (minimum 75%). The test can be written three times (one regular and two corrective).

1. Repetition of  knowledges of nutrition, food preparation technology and food commodities.

2. Information necessary for establishing the correct eating and movement regime of the client and their methods of detection.

3. Specific nutrition requirements for individual population groups.

4. Food quality, changes in nutritional value in technological processing.

5. Disease resulting from improper nutrition.

6. Medical nutrition in clinical practice.

7. Formation of nutritional habits in children and adolescents, prevention of eating disorders as part of education for children

     health. Problems of alternative directions in nutrition.

8. Specifics of professional counseling and consultancy in the field of healthy nutrition
