In this subject the students will learn basic terminology related to hygiene and epidemiology (microorganism, microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, prevalence, incidence, pathogen, virology, bacteriology, parasitology, incubation period, outbreak and spread of the disease, endemic, epidemic, pandemic, virulence, sanitation, antisepsis, asepsis, pest control) considering the focus of health education.

The course-unit credit requirements: successful writing of the credit test - open and closed questions (min. 75%). It is possible to use 3 attemps for writing test - one regular, two corrective.

1. Basic terms I - microorganism, microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, prevalence, incidence, pathogen, virology, bacteriology, parasitology.

2. Basic terms II - incubation period, outbreak of disease and process of spread of infection, endemic, epidemic, pandemic, virulence, remediation, antiseptic, aseptic, deratization.

3. Special microbiology.

4. Respiratory infections.

5. Children's viral and bacterial diseases.

6. Food infections.

7. Enterotoxicosis.

8. Skin disorder.

9. Zoonoses.

10. Diseases transmitted by blood, blood products and other biological materials.
