The seminar will focus on exploring 19th and 20th-century American and European art, especially its reflection in the contemporary American press. The digital library of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. will be the primary source of information, so active English reading ability is essential. In the WS, the seminar participants will focus on hermeneutic research and the presentation of its results through PPTX presentations. In contrast, in the LS, lectures based on the research will be given to the academic community of the KTF UK and guests. At the same time, the text will be submitted in the form of a professional scientific article (title, keywords, abstract, annotated paper - according to IMRaD principles).

Seminář se zaměří na průzkum amerického a evropského umění 19. a 20. století, především jeho reflexi v dobovém americkém tisku. Základním informačním zdrojem bude digitální knihovna Kongresové knihovny ve Washingtonu, a proto je nezbytná aktivní schopnost číst v anglickém jazyce. V ZS se účastníci semináře soustředí na hermeneutický průzkum a prezentaci jeho výsledků prostřednictvím PPTX prezentací, v LS proběhnou na základě provedeného výzkumu přednášky pro akademickou obec KTF UK a pozvaných hostů. Zároveň bude odevzdán text ve formě odborného vědeckého článku (název, klíčová slova, abstrakt, článek s poznámkovým aparátem – podle principů IMRaD).
