The subject helps students to learn about the problem of authority in context of social science. It analyses the concept of authority and interconnects it with closely related concepts. It deals with the form, diversity, development and exercise of authority in different environments, especially in the school environment. It tries to answer the question of how an educator develops and gains authority and on the contrary the reasons of losing it. The subject also focuses on the questions of the methodology of studying authority.

Předmět seznamuje studenty s problematikou autority v kontextu společenských věd. Analyzuje pojem autorita, uvádí jej do vztahu s pojmy obsahově blízkými. Zabývá se podobou, členitostí, budováním a uplatňováním autority v různých prostředích, zejména v prostředí školní výchovy. Snaží se odpovědět na otázku, čím si vychovatel buduje a získává autoritu a v důsledku čeho ji naopak ztrácí. Předmět se rovněž zaměřuje na otázky metodologie zkoumání autority.

The aim of this subject is to make students aware of the question of authority within pedagogical context, to teach them how to analyse pedagogical situations from the point of view of the issues of authority and to search together with them for possibilities how teachers can work with authority in the school environment.
