Annotation -
This subject strives to introduce students to the field of TEFL methodology. They will acquire basic declarative and procedural knowledge and professional skills related mainly to the aims and structure of English lessons. While planning their teaching, the course teacher trainees focus on the development of language skills, lexical or grammatical competence, and learn to understand the nature of interaction between communicative activities and competence. Through the awareness of the advantages and drawbacks, trainees learn to the evaluate efficiency of the selected strategies, and monitor how they relate to basic variables. The course also covers work with textbooks, teaching materials and aids, and classroom English for teacher talk. Trainees analyze video-recordings of lessons, and are involved in micro-teaching.
