With regard to the development of historiography this course is concerned with the theoretical and methodological issues debated particularly throughout the 19th and 20th century.

The course is based on individual reading of Georg G. Iggers' book: Historiography in the Twentieth Century: From Scientific Objectivity to the Postmodern Challenge. Following colloquium in exam period will focus on main topics of the book; teacher will choose one topic and students will be told to present it.
