As one of the scholars puts it, “Deleuze is frequently characterized as a critic of phenomenology. Yet, Deleuze’s thought cannot be understood unless we recognize its similarities to phenomenology.” (L. Lawlor 2012) The course will focus on discussing texts by Gilles Deleuze (and Félix Guattari) in which he (they) confront(s) phenomenology and offer(s) a new understanding of some philosophical concepts and topics.
