Základní instituce lidské společnosti: moc a svoboda; vlastnictví, peníze a směna; právo, spravedlnost a lidská práva. Přehledný kulturně-antropologický výklad tří důležitých oblastí společenské kontroly a jejich souvislostí. Vývoj mocenských (politických), ekonomických (majetek, směna, peníze) a právních struktur a institucí. Moderní společnost jako komunikace. Hlavní linie společenského vývoje: od kmene k individuu, od daru ke směně a trhu, od síly a autority přes privilegia ke smlouvě. Cíl: pochopit souvislosti a získat kvalifikovaný kritický odstup.
