This seminar is designed as a PhD thesis preparation. Since the theoretical bases of biological and cultural anthropology are sometimes considered to be contradictory, this course aims to make this apparent dichotomy less sharp, and thus to show that man and his culture are integrated.

Doktorský seminář je chápán jako příprava k sepsání dizertační práce. Biologická a kulturní antropologie jsou ve
svých teoretických východiscích mimoběžné, ne-li přímo protikladné, či to tak
bývá alespoň někdy chápáno. Cílem semináře je tuto zdánlivou dichotomii oslabit a poukázat na skutečnost, že
člověk a
jeho kultura tvoří jeden celek, jehož "rozpadnutí" na biologické a kulturní fenomény je jen zdánlivé.
