The aim of the course is to introduce students to the historical development and current state of research and reflection on gender in the discipline of social and cultural anthropology. Through readings and collective discussions of selected key ethnographies, we will seek to critically understand the theoretical-conceptual and ethical aspects of understanding the analytical category of gender in ethnographic practice. We will focus on themes of ethnographic writing (representation), gender oppression, resistance, masculinity,care, the economization of sexuality and queer ethnographies.

Cílem kurzu je obeznámit studenstvo s historickým vývojem a současným stavem bádání a reflexi genderu v disciplíně sociální a kulturní antropologie. Na základě podrobného čtení a kolektivních diskusí nad vybranými klíčovými etnografiemi se budeme snažit kriticky porozumět teoreticko-konceptuálním a etickým aspektům porozumění analytické kategorie genderu v etnografické praxi. Zaměřím se na témata etnografického psaní (reprezentace), genderového útlaku, rezistence, maskulinity, ekonomizaci sexuality a tělesnosti a queer etnografiím. Formát: -přednášky, kritické čtení textů, skupinová diskuse, krátké filmové projekce/ podcasty Studentstvo se během kurzu naučí: - kriticky číst porozumět žánru odborných etnografických textů - porozumět analytické kategorii gender z perspektivy sociální a kulturní antropologie - kriticky reflektovat kategorie intersekci genderu, třídy, rasy a jiných identit v etnografické praxi - porozumět možnostem a limitům aplikace vybraných výzkumných technik při studiu genderu - odborně prezentovat (v bezpečném prostředí) a diskutovat etnografické texty
Podmínky absolvování a hodnocení kurzu: 1.) povinná účast 10 bodů (2 povolené absence, komunikované s vyučující) 2.) skupinová prezentace textu: 40 bodů (instrukce vid MS Teams) 3.) závěrečný test 50 bodů Hodnotící škála: 100 - 90 : 1 89 - 80 : 2 79 - 75 : 3 74 a méně : neprospěl/a
