This course focuses on the broad issue of immigration, adaptation and integration of immingrants into the host society. The course introduces students to both the theoretical background of the issue (the key notions and concepts), and to the particular analysis of some immigration groups (in particular Czech emigrants).

Kurz se zaměřuje na problematiku imigrace a následné adaptace a integrace do hostitelské společnosti. Cílem kurzu je představit základní pojmy a koncepty migrace, koncepty vysvětlující etablování imigračních komunit v hostitelské společnosti, koncepty popisující adaptační a integrační strategie těchto komunit, koncepty vysvětlující přístup hostitelské společnosti k těmto komunitám. Teoretický background budou provázet odkazy na analýzu integrace vybraných imigračních skupin (zejména česká emigrace). Návazný kurz se pak zaměří naopak na situaci ČR jako hostitelské společnosti.
