Syllabus -

Residential part of the subject consists of 3-day outdoor residential course (4th – 6th October) in the university outdoor centre and 2 days of outdoor activities in Prague during the winter semester. Dates od these days will be set later.

Residential part of the course:

1. Introduction - safety principles, organisation and didactic approaches, function of experience.
2. Czech culture and Czech aproach to outdoor education
3. Orientation and orienteering race.
4. Outdoor games.
5. Outdoor exercises and ropes courses.
6. Environmental education and games for nature perception and learning about nature.

Exercises:
1. Orientation, map, compass, orientation games and exercises, orientation race.
2. Outdoor games - examples of small and big games.
3. Icebreakers, trust activities, initiative games, reviewing.
4. Outdoor exercises - a terrain run, obstacle courses.
5. Low and high ropes courses.
6. Basics of climbing, bouldering, via ferrata, top rope climbing, abseiling.
7. Eco-games - preparation and realization of simple games.

Prague part od the subject

1. Nordic walking/Cyclo touring through Prague city parks

2. Canoeying on Vltava river in Prague
