Student rozumí obsahu sportovního tréninku z hlediska systémové a procesuální stránky.

Student vysvětlí adaptační modely a principy zatěžování. Tyto principy je schopen aplikovat na jednotlivé adaptační podněty.

Student chápe strukturu sportovního tréninku a dokáže provést základní analýzu faktorů sportovního výkonu v jednotlivých sportech či disciplínách

Zná parametry zatížení pro jednotlivé specifické složky kondice (rychlost síla vytrvalost) a dokáže tyto parametry aplikovat při přípravě specifických tréninků.

Student dokáže aplikovat základní diagnostické metody (monitoring srdeční frekvence, laktátová křivka) a vyhodnotit individuálně výsledky.

Zná specifika tréninku žen a osob se specifickými potřebami

Student je seznámen s vybranými moderními technologiemi ve sportu a umí vysvětlit význam jejich užití.

Course completion requirements -

Credit Award Criteria

The credit for this course is based on two areas of student activity:

  1. Written Test – maximum 25 points

  2. Evaluation of the Seminar Paper – maximum 12 points
    Total possible points: 37

To receive credit, a student must obtain at least 25 points in total.

1) Written Test Evaluation

  • The test consists of 25 multiple-choice questions

  • Options: a, b, c, d – only one correct answer per question

  • Each correct answer is worth 1 point

  • The minimum required score on the written test is 15 points

2) Seminar Paper Evaluation General Requirements:

a) The seminar paper should be based on a literature review and synthesis of relevant scholarly sources (e.g., journal articles) on the assigned topic.
b) The topic of the paper is "Structure of Sports Performance" (SSP) within a chosen specialization. The paper should address the following:

  • The essence of sports performance structure

  • Model characteristics of SSP

  • Specific indicators relevant to the specialization

c) The paper should emphasize approaches specific to the chosen topic, including their rationale and relevance to performance structure analysis. Scientific justification is expected, including connections to fields such as pedagogy, psychology, physiology, etc.
d) Do not include sections related to stimulation or training methods (e.g., how to train strength or endurance). Such content will not count toward the required word count.
e) Focus on specific indicators of SSP in the selected specialization (e.g., “The average bench press strength of NHL defensemen is 120 kg”). Avoid vague or general statements (e.g., “Football players should be fast”) or definitions of performance components (e.g., what is strength and its subtypes).
f) For each factor of SSP mentioned, include specific examples of its manifestation.

Example: “In terms of aerobic capacity, expressed through VO₂max, professional players reach values between 65–70 ml·min⁻¹·kg⁻¹ according to Grasgruber & Cacek (2005). Goalkeepers show the lowest values (50–55), whereas field players typically range from 55 to 75 ml·min⁻¹·kg⁻¹.”

g) Do not include aggregate performance statistics (e.g., “The most successful teams average 85–90% pass completion per game…”). This applies to both team and individual performance statistics.
h) Stick strictly to the chosen topic. Avoid general definitions (e.g., what is football, what is sport). The content must be specific to the chosen topic within the framework of SSP.
i) A complete list of all references and sources used must be provided at the end of the paper.
j) The paper must be approximately 2,500 words in length (excluding the cover page and reference list).

Submission Instructions:

Submit the paper exclusively in electronic format to the following email: peric@ftvs.cuni.cz

In the subject line of the email, please write:
“Performance and Training in Sport – [Your Surname and Name]”

Submissions without proper email subject and format will not be accepted.

Evaluation of the seminar paper will be conducted personally, by phone, or online via MS Teams.

Papers will not be graded via email correspondence.

Seminar Paper Evaluation Criteria

The seminar paper will be evaluated in four areas:

1) Content Quality – max. 5 points

  • Comprehensive coverage of the topic – 5 pts

  • Sufficient coverage with some missing subtopics – 4 pts

  • Covered only main tendencies – 3 pts

  • Topic only partially addressed, key areas missing – 2 pts

  • Marginal mention of the topic, most areas missing – 1 pt

  • Topic is unrelated or incorrect – 0 pts

2) Use of Literature – max. 4 points

  • Adequate use of both Czech and foreign literature, including foreign academic journals – 4 pts

  • Adequate use of Czech and foreign literature, without foreign academic journals – 3 pts

  • Use of Czech literature only – 2 pts

  • Czech literature from a single source – 1 pt

3) Originality – max. 2 points

  • Includes original or uncommon insights – 2 pts

  • Contains only commonly available information – 1 pt

  • Mostly copied from a single source – 0 pts

4) Formal and Language Quality – max. 1 point

  • Adequate style, free from grammar errors, and appropriately structured – 1 pt

  • Inadequate style, contains grammar errors, poor structure – 0 pts

The seminar paper is considered failed if the student earns fewer than 7 points in total.
