The subject connects theory ( lectures on theoretical aspects of selection of sport talented youth) and practice ( examples of diagnostics, field examination, learning methods, gaining information etc.). It presents complex conception of selection of sport talented youth and enables future coaches to rationalize the process of selection and education of sport talents.

Content of teaching:

1) Talent. Definitions - predispositions, giftednes, talents. Philosophy of selection and its essence.

2) Talent selection, talent care, personality determining components.

3) Endogenous factors. Genetic predisposition, biological age.

4) Exogenous factors - main exogenous factors (family, school, club, others), manifestations of influence of conditions and environment.

5) Talent complex. Selection for sport, selection for top performance, selection for a specific team.

6) Three levels of manifestation of talent - endogenous, exogenous, circumstance factors. Five basic areas of talent selection and care.

7) Selection and care of talent (determination of talent). Anthropometric indicators, motor indicators, skill indicators, psychological indicators, complex indicators.

8) Talent forecast - one-time prediction, longitudinal prediction.

9) Talent selection. Principles, models and methods of selection - positive and negative selection, multistep decision-making selection processes, use of regression equations, scientific interdisciplinary sampling, spontaneous sampling, empirical sampling.

10) Supporting talent. Long-term concept of preparation of children and youth. Optimal preparation criteria - two ways of sports preparation of children and youth, stages of sports preparation.

11) Principles of work with children and youth. Care for talents, transition to higher age categories.

12) Organization and methodology of talent selection. Spontaneous selection. Recruitment, basic selection, specialized selection, top sport selection.

13) Scientific and methodological approaches to talent selection. Examples of talent selection research in certain sports.

14) Methodology of talent selection in various sports.
