The subject connects theory ( lectures on theoretical aspects of selection of sport talented youth) and practice ( examples of diagnostics, field examination, learning methods, gaining information etc.). It presents complex conception of selection of sport talented youth and enables future coaches to rationalize the process of selection and education of sport talents.

Předmětu spojuje stránku teoretickou (přednášky o teoretických aspektech výběru sportovně talentované mládeže) i praktickou (příklady diagnostiky, terénní vyšetření, seznámení s metodami získávání informací apod.). Přináší ucelenou koncepci výběru sportovně talentované mládeže a umožní budoucím trenérům racionalizovat proces výběru a výchovy sportovních talentů.

Obsah výuky:
1) Talent. Definice - vlohy, nadání, talent. Filosofie výběru a její podstata.
2) Výběr talentů, péče o talenty, složky determinující osobnost.
9) Výběr talentů. Principy, modely a metody výběru - pozitivní a negativní výběr, vícestupňové rozhodovací výběrové procesy, využití regresních rovnic, vědecké interdisciplinární výběry, spontánní výběry, empirické výběry.
10) Podpora talentů. Dlouhodobá koncepce přípravy dětí a mládeže. Kritéria optimální přípravy - dvě cesty sportovní přípravy dětí a mládeže, etapy sportovní přípravy.
11) Zásady práce s dětmi a mládeží. Péče o talenty, přechody do vyšších věkových kategorií.
12) Organizace a metodika výběru talentů. Spontánní výběr. Nábor, základní výběr, specializovaný výběr, výběr pro vrcholový sport.
13) Vědecké a metodologické přístupy k výběru talentů. Příklady výzkumů výběru talentů v určitých sportovních odvětvích.
14) Metodika výběru talentu v různých sportovních odvětvích.
